Dekker
American Singer/Songwriter Brookln Dekker, better known by his surname-moniker, Dekker, has released 3 albums Slow Reveal: Chapter One (2020), I Won’t Be Your Foe (2022) & Future Ghosts (2024).
Collaborating with Berlin drummer, Stefan Wittich, as well as with mixing/mastering engineer Zach Hanson (Bon Iver, The Staves, Whitney) Dekker hones cohesive and clear indie-folk music.
Dekker grew up in the midwest of America and after 5 years of marriage to his English wife, and the other half of the pair’s indie-folk band, Rue Royale, the couple picked up and moved to the U.K. seeing them tour the European continent extensively from 2008 through 2014. In 2017, after a family-expanding pause from the road, Brookln found himself making the record We Share Phenomena with old friend Lambert. This whetted his appetite for writing and performing again which led to his journey of Dekker in 2019.
Daudi Matsiko
Nottingham based, British-Ugandan singer-songwriter Daudi Matsiko carefully crafts modern albeit reverent folk. Deft, melancholic picking reminiscent of Nick Drake is tempered by contemporary percussion and instrumentation. Matsiko’s vocals derive their strength from their seeming fragility. With every song, his confessional lyrics cut to the marrow. After releasing EPs, ‘A Brief Introduction to Failure’ and ‘The Lingering Effects of Disconnection’, he has toured with Keaton Henson, GoGo Penguin and Portico Quartet and was also a participant of the Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal 2016.
2023 has seen Matsiko receive a standing ovation at this years The Great Escape Festival in Brighton and the release of new single ‘oMo’ as well as April’s ‘Fool Me As Many Times As You Like’ which received support from Gilles Peterson and Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music and Worldwide FM and has been featured in several Spotify playlists including The Most Beautiful Songs in the World, New Music Friday, pumpkin spice, The Other list, Fresh Finds, The Listening Post, Your Coffee Break, Gentle, and Fresh Finds Folk. New music is on the way.
