THE ORDINARY BOYS
The Ordinary Boys’ story began in Brighton in 2001 where they formed from the embers of assorted punk and hardcore bands. Still in their teenage years at the time of it’s release their critically acclaimed debut album went gold and provided the band with four consecutive top forty hits. Over The Counter Culture, was an explosion of energy, frustration and angst which earned them support tours and endorsements from Morrissey, Paul Weller and the Who.
After earning a reputation as a consistently electrifying live band, they recorded second album Brassbound, which included Top Three anthem Boys Will Be Boys, the first of five Top Ten singles. They followed this with third album How To Get Everything You Ever Wanted In Ten Easy Steps which earned them their third gold disc.
The fans of the Ordinary Boys, who dub themselves The Ordinary Army, have ensured that the live show remains as impassioned and cathartic as always.
Front-man Preston, who has since turned his hand to songwriting, penning chart toppers for Cher, Enrique Iglesias and Olly Murs amongst others, is joined by original members Charlie and James with the addition of new guitarist Louis Jones formerly of celebrated power pop band Spectrals.
Currently in the studio working on their first album in seven years and with a tour planned for later in the year, the band are returning to their roots. The Ordinary Army are recruiting again.
