Dot To Dot 24′ – Preview #2

Dot To Dot is back again this year and we’ve got another stacked line-up in both the downstairs bar and our venue upstairs. Read on to get the rundown of the bands gracing the downstairs bar on the 26th May…

Opening the day is Maxwell Varey at 1:30PM, a Wigan based Indie artist who’s poignant lyrics hit home from a generational perspective. With backing from the likes of the NME and BBC Radio 1 this lad is definitely one to watch, get down early! Next up is Mauvey at 2:30PM who’ll be also be returning in November. Blending punk sensibilities with cinematic, pop based songwriting this artist has been crafting a sound that is well and truly his.

Following on is Belgium based band Bluai who’s Autumnal tones and nostalgic songwriting set them apart from the crowd. March saw the release of their debut album ‘Save It For Later’ that evokes the fuzzy feeling that the likes of Big Thief and Alabama Shakes set out to achieve.  3:30PM, be there. Anna Erhard hits the stage at 4:30PM who begins an extensive tour this May, lasting all the way into November. With her latest indie-pop single ‘Botanical Garden’ having hit streaming sites in March we reckon you should head down and give her a great start to her UK/EU tour!

Bristolian singer-songwriter Mitch Sanders takes us into the evening at 5:30PM. Following the release of his debut single ‘Garden Of England’ he’s been busy gigging in and around his home town. Kick off your evening the right way! Dominic Wright follows up at 6:30PM, again having only recently released his debut single a matter of months ago. Blending indie sounds with a mellow approach, his debut EP ‘Ghosts’ is set to be a stunner, catch some unreleased tunes with a Bodega Lager!

Switching things up a bit is Annie-Dog at 7:30PM who exists somewhere in the liminal space between Grimes and PinkPantheress. Having gained the attention of the likes of So Young magazine with her own brand of dance inspired indie-pop she’s certainly one to watch. Fresh off the back of being tour support for Only The Poets and selling out King Tuts with not a single song released is Kerr Mercer, the penultimate downstairs act at 8:30PM. Get to know and say you were there from the start!

Last up is MT Jones at 9:30PM who’s soul and jazz inspired sound transports you to the smokey bars of a time long ago. Having toured for a month whilst still releasing music MT Jones is on top form so it’s only right you head down and have a listen…
