Damn You! Chritmas Covers banner

You know the deal by now: otherwise serious and thoughtful Nottingham music types hit the wine and murder other people’s songs in the name of charity and festive cheer.
The undisputed BEST NIGHT OUT OF THE YEAR for the last 11 years running.

This year sees the boat well and truly pushed out with this stellar line-up:

BUS STOP FINGER (WHITE FINGER & THE BUS STOP MADONNAS)

FISTS

KOGUMAZA

PAPER PLANE CRASH & I AM LONO

WE SHOW UP ON RADAR

TWENTY YEAR HURRICANE

WRONG DIRECTION (featuring members of THE MAJOR OAK CHORUS)

and SPECIAL SECRET GUESTS TOO AWESOME TO EVEN HAVE A NAME YET

all hosted by your compere SANTA CLAUS and his helpers

Plus our usual car crash of DJs and comperes and general dicking-about usually ending in Shalomar’s “Night To Remember” playing while Simmo slumps asleep on the decks and 2 lone dancers get off with each other.

The ‘RULES’:
Every band gets 15 minutes.
DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT YOU’RE PLAYING! Not even your Mums. The surprise is the fun. Don’t play anything that’s been played before – we have our OFFICIAL DAMN YOU XMAS COVERS ADJUDICATOR who is the only person who knows what’s going to get played and he will ensure that everyone doesn’t turn up and play “Are You Gonna Go My Way?” by Lenny Kravitz. Good though that would obviously be.
Do not attempt to bribe the adjudicator, he cannot be broken.

More info as it happens. Spread the word.

TICKETS ARE NOW ONSALE AT THE MUSIC EXCHANGE SHOP and at THOMPSON BROTHERS GROCERS on HAYDN ROAD in SHERWOOD.

An online ticket link will be forthcoming and it’s £7adv this year though in the name of charity (more in a moment) there will be an option to donate more should you wish to do so.

It’s sold out for the last 5 years on the trot so to avoid standing in the cold dressed like Santa like Dan Ackroyd in Trading Places, get yourself a ticket.

All money raised goes, as usual, to the fantastic Nottingham Hospice so it’s making a direct and noticeable effect on people immediately. In short – you getting hammered and singing along to bad covers will actually make someone’s life better. It’s amazing isn’t it?

SEE YOU THERE YEAH.
