3 DAFT MONKEYS

The release of the 3 Daft Monkeys’ latest CD ‘The Antiquated and the Arcane’ in November 2010 on their own 3DM Records is another landmark in the prolific song writing of the Monkeys, and is already being heralded as their best work to date. Accomplished musicians with a background in dance, ska and traditional folk; they create contemporary world music not constrained by 'tradition', but always informed by it.With a line-up consisting of Fiddle (Athene), 12 String Guitar (Tim) and Bass (Lukas), 3 Daft Monkeys weave world music influences around classic folk melodies.

The band deserve immense credit for their unique style and their DIY approach to the music industry which has seen them sell thousands of copies of each of their previous 3 albums without the backing of any record labels or widespread media attention. Their reputation as one of the best live acts on the circuit has been earned from almost non-stop touring, whether that be on 40 date tours across the length and breadth of the UK, or playing to over 20,000 people at festivals including Cropredy and Beautiful Days.
