Kappa Gamma began playing as a reason to keep out of Nottingham’s cold last winter, influenced by an interest in that which is interesting in youth and those other things that could mean something (like a father’s record collection).

Our sound is built in a sunless room from ingredients found on long dog walks and crafted into a synthetic sunshine to soundtrack our late teenage years. When introduced to daylight we're susceptible to combustion - try it, but listen first as you could lose us forever...

A year is a long time, a year is a short time, a lot of things can happen in a year and 2012 has been kind to Kappa Gamma:

Our debut single, ‘Just Another/Wildfire’, was released between Rolo Tomassi's Destination Moon and carers Denizen Recordings and found homes in the ears of Radio 1, 6Music and Xfm listeners, we then found Pocahontas in the wilderness and, after taming her, we added her to our lineup and shook the summer festival crowds.

The penultimate month of the year sees Kappa Gamma having the pleasure of being selected by BBC Introducing as ones to watch in 2013 and in the same week we set off on an intrepid adventure: a musical roadtrip across Europe.

Providing December isn’t the apocalyptic end of the world lets hope the prophecy actually reads of future merriment for Kappas and Gammas alike.

Pax et Fortuna.
