JIMI MACK

A progressive folk-jazz artist with tinges of psychedelia, currently based in Nottingham, England.
More often than not accompanied by percussionist Cameron Worne, his reinvention of the folk-jazz sound of the late sixties and early seventies has received accolades aplenty.

‘Incredible…prolific.’ – Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing

‘With comparisons to the likes of John Martyn and Tim Buckley, his left field take on jazz-inspired folk is a joy to behold’ – Dom Gourlay, Drowned in Sound

‘His intricately layered music is accompanied by thoughtful lyrics and a charismatic voice beyond his years’ – Jimi Arundell, Gigantic

‘Mack’s voice is soft, sweet and doused with just enough reverb to reinforce the melancholy nature of the lyrics, which read more like a piece of abstract poetry than your usual pop platitudes. In an era where the term ‘folk’ has become diluted, and is tagged onto anyone with an acoustic guitar, he manages to combine tradition with originality.’ – Oliver Cobbin, I’m Not From London
