“…a buzzing, hip-shaking slice of rock’n’roll that’s so cool it could freeze the Equator.”• NME
“The Bohicas are a tough-as-a-nut guitar force… Ultimately exciting rock ’n’ roll.”• DIY
“Full of slash and burn dynamics.”• Daily Mirror
“Ones To Watch for 2015”• Daily Star
Poised for a major breakthrough in 2015, The Bohicas previewed their upcoming debut album with the release of the single ‘To Die For’. The single builds upon the interest that was provoked by last year’s ‘XXX’ and ‘Swarm’, two kraut-engined, lazer-guided garage rock missiles which introduced the band as a formidable new force of both brain and brawn.
Produced by Mark Rankin (Queens of the Stone Age, Bombay Bicycle Club), Chris Merrick Hughes (Tears For Fears, Adam And The Ants) and Oli Bayston (Toy, Boxed In), ‘To Die For’ continues to snap up disparate elements from the history of guitar music and forge them into something urgent and re-energised.
Having completed the ‘Swarm Over Essexxx’ tour of their homeland and a headline show for BBC Introducing at Club NME at London’s Koko, they next play the Domino Records Night with Clinic at the Putney Half Moon in London on January 31st, before supporting Drenge at the Dome in Tufnell Park on February 12th as part of this year’s NME Awards shows, followed by a headline slot for XFM at the Tooting Tram & Social on February 20th.
Frontman Dominic McGuinness isn’t big on labelling their approach within the confines of genre. “You know when you go to see a great film at the cinema and come out of it feeling like you’re the lead character, walking down the street like the Fonz or De Niro?” he questions. “I want people listening to our band to feel like that”
“People ask what sort of music we make, but if I say rock ‘n’ roll they instantly think of the fifties,” adds guitarist Dominic John. “It’s the same starting point in terms of the energy behind it, but it’s not referential and it’s really not about looking back. It’s seeing that danger and energy, but taking it somewhere else.”

BITTER STRINGS
A four piece band from Nottingham & Leeds, with music that fits somewhere between Northern Soul, 60’s beat pop and good old fashioned rock and roll! We’ve played along side acts such as, Reverend and The Makers, Tom Odell, The View, One Night Only and played the main stage at this years Dot To Dot Festival at Rock City, Nottingham.
“Channelling effortless rock n’ roll grit infused with a thick slice of Northern cockiness, these guys ooze old school charisma and are the cream of the crop of Notts alt-rock bands – watch this space!” • Tom Hadfield (Nusic)
