ANNIE EVE
Annie Eve’s hushed, intense acoustica is going to make waves this year and next. Prepare to be engulfed by this 22-year-old from North London. After issuing two critically acclaimed EP’s, Annie released her much anticipated debut album, entitled “Sunday ‘91” on 25th August on Mouth to Mouth Records / Sony Red Music Solutions.
With all tracks written by Annie and performed by her band which includes Jack Pattison on slide guitar, accordionist Jess Sawers-Warren, on drums, Oli Dacombe and Will Hughes on bass, Sunday ’91 is a landmark debut in the annals of richly hued, gently intense dark mood music. The first single from the debut album is ‘Basement’ which is available as an instant grat with pre order of the album now.
Annie Eve has been turning heads since she released her first self -titled EP last year which gained support from the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, 6 Music, XFM, Drowned in Sound, This Is Fake DIY and The 405 to name a few. Her second EP ‘Feversome’ came out in March 2014 on Young and Lost Club, the label responsible for early releases by Bastille, Everything Everything and Noah & The Whale. The EP picked up praise from Sunday Times Culture, Clash, NME, Evening Standard, The Line of Best Fit and comparisons were made with everyone from Regina Spektor and Cat Power to Bon Iver and Kurt Cobain. The lead single ‘Southern’ received plays on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show as part of his ‘Next Hype’ section, Jo Whiley’s Radio 2 show and on Mary Anne Hobbs ‘6 Music Recommends’ selection.
